Box To Box Expands into Latin America with Fillip
“Together with Box To Box Films — the powerhouse behind Drive to Survive, Full Swing and Sprint — Fillip is launching Box to Box Latin America, a new venture based in Mexico City to tell the region’s most compelling sports stories with world-class quality.”
Award-winning production company Box To Box has announced the launch of Box To Box LatAm, a new joint venture with Fillip, aimed at developing and producing high-end documentary, docuseries, and scripted content across Latin America.
The new division will be headed by Andrea Pérez García-Escudero, who takes on the role of Executive Vice President. Pérez García-Escudero brings extensive experience from leadership positions at Netflix and Fox Sports Mexico, and is expected to drive the company’s regional strategy with a focus on storytelling that connects local culture with global audiences.
“Box To Box is entering Latin America with great enthusiasm, bringing our global storytelling expertise to a region full of deep-rooted stories and powerful traditions that resonate far beyond borders,” said Pérez García-Escudero in a statement.
The venture marks a strategic expansion for Box To Box, whose global portfolio includes acclaimed titles in the sports and documentary space. By partnering with Fillip, the company aims to leverage deep cultural insight and regional infrastructure to tap into emerging talent and narratives across the continent.
“Storytelling knows no borders,” said Paul Martin, co-founder of Box To Box. “Together with Fillip, we’re committed to uncovering and elevating stories that transcend geography and language.”
Box To Box LatAm signals a significant push into Latin America’s growing content market, promising to bring new voices and previously untold stories to a global stage.

Venture Feature - The Human Element in Venture Capital by a Mexican VC
This week, Marc Andreessen said something that really stuck: early-stage venture capital might be one of the last jobs left for humans in a world run by AI. And honestly, he’s probably right. At DILA, we say it all the time—money is just money. Founders can get it anywhere. What really matters is everything else that comes with it: the relationships, the gut feeling, the late-night phone calls, and the real-life experience of having been through the ups and downs with other founders. That’s the stuff you can’t automate.
Sure, AI can help with the spreadsheets, market research, and maybe even writing memos. But the real work of being a VC? That’s way more personal. It’s finding the teams who aren’t even looking for funding yet, helping them figure out what they really need, and being there when things get messy. You can’t train an algorithm to care, to earn someone’s trust, or to help them rebuild when things fall apart. In a world where everything’s speeding up and getting more robotic, maybe the most valuable thing we can offer is the one thing tech can’t touch: being human.

Venture Volumes - The Power Law by Sebastian Mallaby
The Power Law is a deep dive into the world of VC and the outsized influence it has had on the modern tech economy. The book explores how a small group of investors, driven by a high-risk, high-reward mindset, have shaped some of the world’s most transformative companies—think Apple, Google, Facebook, and Airbnb. Mallaby unpacks the dynamics of the “power law,” where a tiny handful of investments generate massive returns, and uses rich storytelling to profile the VCs behind these bets. It’s part history, part insider look, and a sharp analysis of how venture capital works, why it matters, and what makes it so unique in the financial world.
